Change Your Voice, Change Your Life !!HOT!!

I interview people who share how they overcame their fears about stepping up and speaking out. They each offer tips and strategies that you can apply to your own journey to find your voice and change your life.

Change Your Voice, Change Your Life

The way you sound is just as important as the words you say. While not everyone who wants to change their voice can become a Grammy Award-winning singer, there are steps you can take to improve the overall sound, tone, texture, and quality of your voice.

Being overweight may also affect breath control, making the voice sound raspy or breathless. Being underweight, in reverse, may also affect your voice by reducing your endurance and making your vocal cords more prone to injury.

The sound your voice makes is transmitted into your eardrums via air, where it vibrates three tiny bones: the malleus, incus, and stapes. It then travels to your cochlea and, ultimately, to your brain.

The air flows between your vocal cords, making them vibrate. Your voice, like all sound, is energy made by vibrating air particles. Your pitch is determined by the number of vibrations your vocal cords make. This is referred to as frequency. Fewer vibrations generate a lower pitch. More vibrations generate a higher pitch.

The vibrations propel the particles of air to continue traveling to your mouth and sinuses, where your voice acquires resonance, tone, and the uniqueness of your own particular sound. If your sinuses are clogged, your voice may acquire a nasal tone at this point in the process.

I have an entire section on vocal power in my bestselling book, Cues: Master the Secret Language of Charismatic Communication. I also read the Audiobook and demo all kinds of voice techniques you can use to up your vocal charisma.

What is the maximum resonance point? This is your personal vocal range that makes you sound the loudest, richest, most relaxed, and speak with confidence. Here is my favorite technique to find your maximum resonance point:

Public speaker and self-development author Brian Tracy recommends recording yourself in a few different contexts and tracking how your voice changes. Record a part of your conversations in the next few days when you:

The reason this works is it creates more space in your chest, vocal cords, and mouth. The more space you create in your body, the easier it is for you to get breath, volume and power behind your voice.

Voice disorders affect your ability to speak normally. They may change the quality, pitch or loudness of your voice. A voice disorder can prevent you from communicating with others or expressing yourself. This can have a serious impact on your quality of life.

Your primary healthcare provider may diagnose a voice disorder, or they may refer you to a speech-language pathologist or laryngologist (a doctor who specializes in disorders of the voice box). They perform a thorough physical exam and evaluate your symptoms and medical history. Your healthcare provider may ask you questions about how your voice challenges are affecting your life at home, work or school.

Your healthcare provider will look very closely at your face, head, neck and throat while you perform speaking or breathing exercises. Report any physical symptoms you feel during these exercises. Tell them if you have pain, scratchiness or difficulty breathing.

To see how well your voice box and vocal cords are working, your healthcare provider may recommend imaging tests. A laryngoscopy uses a special tool called a laryngoscope (a thin, flexible tube with a video camera attached) to examine the back of your throat. During this test, they may also perform a biopsy. Your healthcare provider takes samples from nodules, polyps or cysts and examines them under a microscope to check for diseases.

People with more complex voice disorders may need voice therapy. Speech-language pathologists teach techniques and exercises to regulate your voice so you can communicate more clearly. A few examples include:

Voice disorders affect your ability to speak clearly. They might affect the volume, tone or pitch of your voice. Sometimes, voice problems are due to overuse and resolve once you rest your voice. Other times, voice problems are the result of more complex health conditions. If you notice a change in your voice that lasts longer than a few weeks, contact your healthcare provider.

How effectively you are using your voice will determine your success in love relationships, business, dreams, career, and every single aspect of life! Your voice transmits your feelings, emotions, hurts, wants, and needs from you to others.

In business having powerful verbal skills are crucial if you want to improve productivity and have a more talented workforce. Only confident communicators can bring clarity and direction to a company. The ability to be a dynamic speaker is a skill you must acquire. A great speaker is someone who can transform the listener not just give them directions or information. This is not an easy thing to do, but with training and practice, one voice can change the world.

In Joshua chapter one, we read the story of Joshua. Moses had died and now Joshua was in charge of leading his people across the Jordan River into the land God had promised to give to them. After giving Joshua the exact parameters of the land, God changes his tone.

For older adults, if you are retired or living alone, you may be talking less. But just like the rest of the body, the voice needs exercise to keep it in good shape. Join a choir, sing in the shower, or read aloud. Be social and participate in conversation. The worst thing you can do is isolate yourself and stay quiet.

Many older adults with voice problems can benefit from professional help. A comprehensive voice evaluation can rule out any other causes for voice issues (like tumors or lesions). Your ENT voice specialist may suggest voice therapy, which is like physical therapy for the voice to improve its health, function, quality, and stamina. Voice therapy is typically covered by insurance, but check with your provider to confirm.

Laryngeal cancers that form on the vocal cords (glottis) often cause hoarseness or a change in the voice. This might lead to them being found at a very early stage. If you have voice changes (like hoarseness) that do not improve within 2 weeks see your health care provider right away. Pain and trouble breathing or swallowing might be symptoms of more advanced laryngeal cancer.

Cancers that start in the area of the larynx above the vocal cords (supraglottis), the area below the vocal cords (subglottis), or the hypopharynx do not usually cause voice changes, and are therefore more often found at later stages.

Remember all that embarrassing voice cracking? That was your vocal cords being exposed to increased amounts of testosterone. As your body went into testosterone overdrive during puberty, the hormone went to work on your vocal cords, causing them to lengthen and thicken. Boys who produced more testosterone during puberty turned into men with thicker and longer vocal cords, and consequently, naturally deeper voices. (Researchers theorize that this, by the way, is why women prefer deeper voices; they signal that a man has more T, which back in primitive times might of meant he was a stronger and more virile protector and provider.)

The second benefit of breathing from your diaphragm is that it does deepen your voice a bit without the ill effects of trying to speak from your throat. Your voice will have more resonance and gravitas as you breathe correctly.

Improving your natural voice is something doable and within your reach. Believe it or not, Morgan Freeman once spoke with a voice that was an octave or so higher than it is today. When he was in college, a professor helped him work on deepening it a little. While the timbre of your own voice may never be movie narration-ready, it can be one that gives you confidence and leaves others enjoying the sound of your words.

4. Continually offer the sacrifice of praise to God. The fruit of your lips is praise and praise always produces the harvest in your life. If the fruit of your lips is praise, then God will form your future based on your praise.

3. Your voice: The power of death and life are in your tongue. The Lord can become weary of your words when they are filled with doubt and worry and negativity. He is the High Priest of your confession. 041b061a72
